New Year Electronic Recycling Drive

January 8-22, 2017

This January we will once again have an opportunity to clear the many defective, obsolete, and spare electronics from our homes and businesses in a way that is environmentally friendly, provides a little income for church ministries, and serves as a potential tax deduction for donors.    Collection boxes will be set up near the church office starting on January 10th.   Items may be placed in these boxes any time the church is open through January 22nd.    Please stop by the church office during weekday office hours if you would like a tax receipt.

Items that may be contributed include:

Computers - Desktops, laptops, servers, monitors, keyboards, mice, speakers, and all other computer components

Office - Fax machines, typewriters, inkjet cartridges, printers, scanners, routers, shredders, and copiers

Portable - Cell phones, GPS devices, calculators, portable CD and DVD players, PDAs, and MP3 Players

Entertainment - Car and home audio equipment, satellite and cable boxes, VCRs, DVD players and recorders, headphones, video games & systems, electric keyboards, digital (flat screen) TVs and accessories.

Cameras - Camcorders and all non-disposable film and digital cameras

Household - Air purifiers, baby monitors, vacuum cleaners, power tools, electric razors, sewing machines, and medical equipment

One important note: We do not have options for processing electronic products that are not on this list.  Unfortunately those items, such as analog televisions, cannot be accepted.

Because obsolete and defective home and office electronics represent the fastest growing waste disposal challenge of our day, the Church & Society Committee has sponsored electronic recycling at Arapaho since 2006 with the expectation that the evolving commercial, state, and municipal programs will eventually fill this role.    Current information on many of these options may be found at:   The City of Richardson will also offer electronics recycling and document shredding in conjunction with their annual Trash Bash set for April 15th; 2017; see for details.

Thank-you for your caring attention and participation.
