Children's Ministry

Our children are sacred and here at Arapaho UMC we boldly affirm that sacredness while equipping them with the language and tools needed for their faith journey.  Along the way we mark important life moments for them by inviting our first graders to worship, giving our third graders their own bibles and confirming our sixth graders.  We would love to walk alongside your family and help develop a strong faith for the journey.

We have a Weekly Children's Email Newsletter with updates on

Activities, Sunday School, VBS, Children's Choir and more!

  • 1st Graders in Worship

All new 1st Graders are invited to participate in the Worship Workshops which will begin on Sunday, August 28, 2016 and end on October 2, 2016. 1st Graders are asked to attend Sunday School beginning at 9:45 with the rest of their group, then later in the morning 1st Graders will go to a separate room to learn important foundational information about the process of worship (such as the Lord’s Prayer and the Doxology). This workshop is designed to help children strengthen their participation in the congregational worship service as they transition out of the Childcare program. As a part of our Baptismal promise to nurture all children committed to our care, it becomes essential that we fully include children in our worship experience.

While 1st Graders are attending this class, they are still welcome in Child Care during worship, however on October 2nd all 1st Graders will be formally welcomed in worship.  Parents please remember that you are invited to participate in communion with your child beginning at 10:30 on October 2nd in the sanctuary.

  • third grade bibles

It is customary for AUMC to present Third Graders with their own personalized Bible, after which the children are invited to attend an overnight lock-in event that will help them discover the many ways in which the Bible is and can be used. Bibles are presented in September.  We believe that the Bible is God’s Word revealed and that the Bible helps us know God and to know how God wants us to live our lives in relationship to God and to others. This class will teach the fundamentals of using the Bible and help the children learn how Scripture is important in their daily lives.
